>>7500Catholicism teaches that humanity inherits a wounded condition, loss of original holiness, inclination toward sin, suffering, and death. Not that every person personally committed Adams sin. Catholic teaching generally says that forgiveness and initial justification originate in God’s freely given grace and cannot be merited through suffering or good deeds. How3ver I do get your point since Catholicism also teaches penance, confession, and sometimes “satisfaction” after sin. It also teaches that unavoidable suffering may be united spiritually with Jesus Christ, but it is not built around suffering.
>protestants believe that they have to work hard in order to obtain salvation.Regular Protestantism teaches almost the opposite of earning salvation through hard work. Lutheran and other Reformation traditions generally teach justification by Gods grace through faith, apart from works. Good works are regarded as the result or evidence of living faith and they're not considered payment to God.
