Today was a very good day for Trump. Trump's handling of this trial was a master class in election campaigning and persuasion tactics.
Here's why
All publicity is good publicity
Trump has been in fine form throughout this, playing the media like a fiddle to give him non stop coverage. It's fair to say that even Democrat outlets like CNN or MSNBC are saying the word 'Trump' more than twice as much as they are 'Biden', and they have been for months. Name recognition is the most basic part of winning elections and Trump has gotten essentially billions of dollars worth of advertising for free from the MSM.
Truth always wins
From day one Trump made it clear, using his daily press conference outside the courthouse to give his side of the story. He didn't even care if there was a gag order, he told it like it is, in plain English, and that's what people voted for him for in 2016 too. From day one America saw an honest, genuine man, telling the media what he was going through, without allowing anyone to distort his words or cut him off. Masterful.
Taking the high road all the way.
He invoked the constitution and the rule of law.
Trump has made it clear he's a by the book kind of conservative. He's taking the high road while the Dems are down in the mud, looking more petty and ridiculous by the day. Trump has made it clear that he isn't the vindictive lunatic they say he is.
He's made it clear he's just a regular New Yorker trying to put one foot in front of another and do what's right for this country.
